So this is what artistic New Yorkers do thursday nights. They spend their afternoon in Chelsea the best place to go to see the latest artists works in galleries. Since they’re all in one spot, it’s easy to see a lot of different people and pieces at one night. Also it’s an event to see and to be seen, people wear their most fashionable clothes, shoes and accessories. All in all the perfect mix: Art and socializing.
First Stop at Driscoll Babcock gallery for their Marylyn Dintenfass exhibition.

Big event on thursday nights, people come to congratuate the artist or to meet friends (the artists are often both). I never knew that it would be possible to meet people by coincidence in the city, but if you know the places you might see people you haven’t seen in years.

Artist Zwelethu Mthethwa is known for his photographs capturing cultures. Here: ownership, gender and the relationship we have with our belongings.
In between all this enjoyable buzz: Me. Young girl, with her camera trying to get the best shots. And it was worth it, I talked to a lot of artists and creative people. Always with that one thought in the back of my head: I want this to be me in a couple of years, not only visitor but active participant. Maybe NYC, maybe London or Berlin, the city doesn’t matter (but preferably all of them). We just have to wait and see. Love always, x
