Of all places I’ve been to San Francisco is without a doubt the one with most food culture. People here know that food isn’t only there to feed you but that it can be a way of living. They say that it all started in this city and it doesn’t surprise me because it is really hard not to find an organic food place somewhere on your way through the city. The main point is that the food is coming from local sellers and are all natural, people want to know what they’re actually eating to be healthy. It reminds me very much of home.
The Ferry Building Marketplace is one of the best places in the city to go to if you want to fix your meal yourself. Loads of stores that sell fresh goods every day, it actually reminded me a lot of the markets I went to in Barcelona last summer. Do I even have to mention that everything seemed to be in that one particular style that makes you feel like you’re standing in one of etsys warehouses? The light that was flooding through the entire building, the different scents of fresh baked bread, ground coffee and all kinds of soaps and other lotions were the perfect mix to make me feel that I was exactly where I wanted to be.
